SHERMAN
DEMOCRAT for
HARDY
COUNTY COUNCIL
“I won’t be everything to everyone — but I will be everything I said I would be to you. District 9 deserves more than soundbites. We deserve bold, accountable leadership that shows up, listens, and delivers real results.”

MEET SHERMAN
I’m running for Prince George’s County Council District 9 because I believe in a future where every neighborhood thrives—where smart growth, strong communities, and bold leadership drive our county forward.
I know Prince George’s County’s challenges and its promise. We’ve got the talent, the heart, and the history to lead the region in innovation, opportunity, and quality of life. But we need leaders who will listen, lead, and fight for the people—not for politics.

Goals
Our Vision for District 9
Prince George’s County has every resource to thrive — strong families, diverse neighborhoods, a rich history, and unmatched potential. Yet too often, mismanagement, wasteful spending, and shortsighted planning have held us back.
Our vision is clear:
Accountability first — Every tax dollar must be spent wisely, transparently, and with a clear return for our communities.
Jobs you can count on — Attract employers and industries that match District 9’s strengths — from modern agriculture, healthcare and logistics to clean energy and innovation — so residents can work where they live and grow their careers right here.
Safe and healthy neighborhoods — Strengthen first responders, promote prevention programs, invest in preventative care & reducing hospital wait-times and make mental health a core part of community life.
Smart, balanced growth — Roads, schools, and infrastructure must keep pace with new development, ensuring quality of life for current and future residents.
Protect what makes us unique — From our open spaces to our cultural history, we’ll use smart policy to preserve our quality of life while creating new opportunities.

Why Sherman?
I’ve lived the values of accountability and service my entire life — as a U.S. Air Force veteran, careers in law enforcement, emergency manager, housing advocacy, and acquisition specialist overseeing how government spends your money.
Public Safety & Emergency Management: As a former emergency manager with FEMA’s National Integration Center, I coordinated with local, state, and tribal officials across the country to strengthen preparedness and response systems. With advanced training and real-world experience, I know how to plan for crises before they happen and make sure our communities are protected.
Law Enforcement Experience: Having served in law enforcement; I understand both the importance of strong public safety systems and the need to build trust between first responders and the community. That perspective guides my commitment to policies that keep neighborhoods safe while ensuring fairness and accountability.
Experience that matters: From real estate and housing policy to federal acquisition, I’ve seen firsthand how poor decisions waste resources and leave families behind.
Proven advocate: I’ve challenged fiscal mismanagement and pushed for transparency & accountability in county government.
Community-driven leadership: I don’t just talk about problems — I build solutions alongside neighbors, nonprofits, and small businesses.
I’m running for County Council because District 9 deserves more than excuses. We deserve results. I’ll bring watchdog-level oversight, a veteran’s discipline, and an emergency manager’s readiness to lead in moments big and small.
